Jeans Saga

March 19th, 2009

I didn’t take any pictures at the very beginning, but if you look carefully you can tell that I am making these jeans out of another pair of jeans. I started out with hand-me-down jeans that were too big for me; I cut my own size out of them.

It was really difficult because I kept the belt loops and waistband attached the ENTIRE TIME! (Belt loops are freaking hard to sew on, so I wanted to avoid re-doing them)

I know, nice dark spot, right?–I took the original back pockets off.

This is me bleaching my pants after they were finished.

Wearing wet pants is rather uncomfortable.

I’m rinsing out the bleach.

End product: Back and Front

I was just searching around about this when I stumbled on your blog post. I’m only visiting to say that I very much enjoyed seeing this post, it is really clear and well written. Are you planning toblog more about this? It appears like there is more material here for later posts.

    Hi,
Thanks for viewing my Jeans Saga page on melodychapman.com. I am very glad you wrote it. What is it that you would like to see more of in future posts? I would like your own response and requests to that question; I will also tell you that I am considering blogging about the following (with pictures included)

    • How I made my own jeans pattern
    • The white jeans I am making with that pattern, and
    • Clothing designs I have come up with and asking for votes from my followers for which ones they would like to see me make. I can put pictures and movies up of my journey designing and making it.
