My Closet Catalog
I am starting to like clothes. However I also like to be wise with my money. I decided to stop longing for new clothes from the store by making my own catalog. It has been a lot of fun. I mix and match my clothes and make new ones and take pictures of me in them. This allows me to see what I have and how much I like it. It works out fabulously: I see the stuff I own and it makes me want to wear it–just like seeing cute stuff at a store that I want to wear. It’s like shopping out of my own closet!! I call it my Closet Catalog.
One of the things I have done this year (and last year) is learn how to make clothing patterns. I have all this fabric in the “Crows Nest” of our house (a.k.a. the attic) and have learned that I can be very industrious with it. It thrills me every time I receive a sweet compliment from someone, “I love all your dresses,” “You made that?!” and so forth. Along with all the kindness I have heard the wish from numerous women, “I wish I could do that, I have always wanted to sew.”
Well, this blog won’t teach someone to sew all at once, but I bet it will be helpful to some. And down the road I hope to become more helpful to the very earliest beginners.
I would love your comments and suggestions. I am a very visual learner and want this blog to be entertaining and user-friendly to everyone out there who would rather look and listen rather than read.
