I’m in a Movie!!
I’m in a movie. Yay!! This was a fun project. Craigslist had auditions for them all over the place. It’s called the 48 hour film project and people all over the world participate. The various film producers that are involved have no idea what they are going to make their movie about. They meet together in a room where they are assigned:
- Their genre of film: romance, sci-fi, horror, holiday, etc.
- A character to be in the film (such as “Dan Bridges”), and
- A sentence of dialogue to be incorporated into the film
Upon getting these assignments the producers have 48 hours to write a screenplay, film and edit their movie, and turn it in.
Last night we watched the films of Group B (about 12) at the Jordan Commons Theatre. Each movie was about 7 minutes long. The genre for the movie I was in was romance. All of us had to incorporate a character named “Dan Bridges” in our film, as well as the line, “Whoa. I didn’t see that coming.” It was hilarious to see how each individual film incorporated the dialogue differently. We also all had to incorporate a certificate into our films. I got to be the gift certificate-bearer in our film entitled, Frightful Love.
The winning movies get a lot of publicity. How do you like ours?

Holy cow! Melody! I am excited to find you! (obviously I don’t have the faebook thing figured out yet!) Guess what?!?!?! My husband did a film in the 48 Hour Film Competition too! It was called “The Millstone.” It is good to see you are out & about! Love ya!
